Margo Fraser holds a B.Sc. (Co-op)
and M.Sc. in Kinesiology specializing in Ergonomics from the University
of Waterloo as well as a Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. She is a Canadian Certified Professional
Ergonomist (CCPE)* and a Past-President and current Executive Director of the
Association of Canadian Ergonomists/Association canadienne d'ergonomie.
Margo is a Practicing Kinesiologist with the British Columbia
Association of Kinesiologists and is a the Vice-President and Secretary General of the International Ergonomics Association (IEA) as well as a member of the International
Ergonomics Association (IEA) technical committees on Ergonomics for Children
and Educational Environments (ECEE), and Organizational Design and Management (ODAM).
Margo worked as a research assistant at
the University of Waterloo in the occupational biomechanics and ergonomics
lab between degrees and has since consulted in a number of settings
including electronics assembly, control rooms, financial institutions,
petrochemical manufacturing, oil and gas, pulp and paper, printing,
libraries, schools, municipalities, drivers, laboratories, light manufacturing,
offices and home offices.
Outside of "work", Margo volunteers regularly on construction with Habitat for Humanity, travels extensively and spends as much time exploring the world by canoe or foot as possible! She raced as a member of the
Canadian National Age Group Olympic distance Triathlon team from 1999 to 2008 and coached speed skaters from Latvia and Canada at the 2002 at the Salt Lake Olympics. |
